Storytell Update: Sign Up Inserts and Bug Fixes

Hey everyone, I'll be sharing with you all the changes we have made to Storytell over the past week. These updates are designed to make your interactions with Storytell more intuitive and productive.While these changes may seem incremental, they represent our continuous effort to evolve and improve based on user feedback and usage data.

Revamped Text Selection Menu

One of the most significant updates in this release is the new and improved text selection menu. When you highlight text within a thread, you'll now see a redesigned menu with intuitive categories and options. From explaining the selected text to finding similar content and rewriting for different audiences, this menu puts powerful tools at your fingertips. We've also integrated share buttons, allowing you to easily copy the selected text or share it via email. This feature is just the beginning, and we have plans to further enhance the sharing capabilities in upcoming releases.

Encouraging User Sign-ups with Inserts

To help convert guest users into registered members, we've implemented sign-up inserts. Now, guest users will have a limited number of interactions before being prompted to create an account. This change ensures that users can experience the value of Storytell while encouraging them to unlock the full potential of the platform by signing up. We've designed the inserts to be eye-catching yet unobtrusive, striking a balance between user engagement and experience.

Homepage Campaign Suggestions

When you visit the homepage, you'll see a rotating selection of 20 popular prompts based on user engagement data. These suggestions are designed to inspire and guide you in your writing journey. You can hover over a prompt to pause the rotation and click on it to be taken directly to the prompt page. We've also implemented tracking to monitor the effectiveness of these suggestions, allowing us to make data-driven improvements in the future.

Bug Fix: Two threads being created at once

Some of you may have encountered a bug where creating a new thread from the main screen would sometimes result in two new threads being created instead of one. We're happy to report that this issue has been resolved. Now, when you create a new thread, you'll be consistently directed to the correct thread, and your submitted prompt will be displayed as expected.
