Fewer upload failures and faster issue resolution‍

We’ve built an internal tool that can detect and resolve issues with file uploads. When a file fails to process, our tool will show us which file uploads failed and allow us to kick off another round of reprocessing with just one click, letting us do some of the heavy lifting.

Smarter file processing

Some file types—especially CSVs or Excel files—don’t always follow a standard format, which can lead to missing or misinterpreted data during processing. Storytell now identifies and restructures semi-structured files to ensure more complete and accurate processing.

Here’s how this improves your workflow:

• Storytell detects key patterns in files – If a file follows a familiar structure, Storytell can recognize it and adjust it automatically.
• Fewer errors from complex formats – Files that previously lost details due to inconsistent formatting now process more accurately.
• More reliable insights from data – With improved file handling, users get a more complete and structured dataset to work with.

These updates ensure that even non-standard files can be processed smoothly, saving users time and reducing the need for manual formatting fixes.

Behind the scenes, we’ve optimized how Storytell handles file uploads and high-demand tasks using a Kubernetes cluster. Storytell now processes files faster, even when many users are uploading at the same time. This reduces wait times and ensures a smooth experience, whether you’re working with a single document or large datasets. This means:

• Faster processing times during high-traffic periods
• More stability, with fewer slowdowns or interruptions
• A smoother experience for users working with large files

More accurate search results for multiple collections

Search now better understands when users mention multiple Collections in a prompt. Storytell balances search results across collections, making it easier to compare or analyze data from different sources.

Shared Collections is now live

We recently rolled out shared Collections. Now, you can collaborate with your team using an existing or new Collection. Aaron, our principal engineer, explained that when you share a collection with an existing user, they’ll receive an email invitation for the collaboration.
