Storytell Update: Introducing Thread Deletion + Bug fixes and UI improvements
July 26, 2024
Hey users! I'm excited to share some updates to Storytell we've recently rolled out. In this post, i'll walk you through these updates, explaining both the technical details and how they'll benefit you as a Storytell user.
New Feature: Thread Deletion
We've introduced a highly requested feature: thread deletion. Now, you have the power to remove threads you no longer need, helping you keep your workspace organized and clutter-free.
Key points about thread deletion:
- Deleted threads are soft-deleted for 30 days before being permanently removed.
- During this 30-day window, our support team can recover accidentally deleted threads if needed.
- We're exploring the possibility of introducing a "trash bin" feature, similar to popular email platforms, to give users more control over managing deleted content.
This new functionality empowers users to maintain a clean and efficient workspace while providing a safety net for accidental deletions.
Enhanced Content Interaction with Improved Highlighting
We've introduced a more sophisticated highlighting system to improve your content interaction experience:
- Hovering over LLM responses now reveals intuitive highlight boxes around logical sections or paragraphs.
- Clicking within a highlight box selects all the text inside, making it easy to quote, copy, or perform other actions.
- The highlighting adapts to the structure of the text, ensuring relevant and contextual selection options.
These enhancements make it effortless for users to identify, select, and manipulate specific portions of content. By providing visual cues and smart text selection, we're streamlining the process of engaging with and leveraging the valuable insights generated within Storytell threads.
Additionally, we've inverted the colors of the text menu to make it more prominent and easier to discover.
Bug Fix: Seamless Thread Creation
Previously, when creating a new thread and navigating between existing ones, the platform would occasionally fail to recognize newly created threads, causing confusion and disrupting workflows.
I'm happy to report that this issue has been completely resolved. Now, when you create a new thread and navigate between existing ones, Storytell will accurately display and maintain your newly created content. This fix ensures a more reliable and frustration-free experience when organizing and managing your threads.
Landing Page Design Updates
Lastly, we've made several key improvements to the Storytell landing page based on valuable user feedback:
- Removed subtitles from prompt cards to improve readability and focus on the prompts themselves.
- Switched to white text on a dark background for enhanced visual clarity.
- Reorganized prompt cards into alphabetical order for easier navigation.
These updates create a more intuitive and visually appealing entry point into the Storytell platform. By decluttering the interface and providing a logical structure to the prompt library, we're empowering users to quickly find and engage with the content that matters most to their needs.
