In this week's engineering demo, the Storytell team shared updates across three important areas: improving the Chrome extension, refining our market positioning, and introducing a new way to automate feedback. Each update is designed to enhance usability, support clearer collaboration, and prepare Storytell for the future of AI-driven work.
Making the Chrome extension even easier to use
Andi, our senior front-end engineer, presented major improvements to the Chrome extension—a feature many users rely on for fast, in-browser access to Storytell.

Here’s what’s new:
- A more compact design makes it easier to view multiple prompts and threads at once.
- Users can now access predefined and saved templates from the prompt library without leaving the extension.
- The copy function has been streamlined to capture only the final answer, removing unnecessary context.
- A new back button improves navigation between chats related to the same webpage, helping users revisit previous work effortlessly.
These changes create a smoother, more intuitive workflow for anyone using Storytell directly within their browser.

Sharpening Storytell's market vision
Drodio, our CEO and co-founder, shared an updated vision for Storytell’s place in the evolving tech landscape: positioning Storytell as a meta-layer for unstructured data.

In this model:
- Storytell acts as a "librarian," turning scattered information like emails, documents, and other sources into reusable "Concept" objects.
- These organized objects make data more accessible to both people and AI agents, supporting faster insights and action.
- This approach aligns with the growing shift toward AI-driven operations, ensuring Storytell remains an essential tool for companies navigating unstructured data challenges.
By clarifying this vision, Storytell strengthens its market positioning and builds a foundation for long-term innovation.
Automating feedback to support transparency and growth
Margaux, Storytell’s operations lead, introduced a new process for collecting and summarizing feedback during our engineering demo calls using Storytell itself. By adding structured feedback to our demo sessions, we aim to help engineers deliver higher-quality presentations that offer clearer insight into their process and create greater impact.

Key improvements:
- Feedback for engineers is now standardized and summarized into a shared document.
- Prompts within Storytell help generate clear summaries, ensuring that everyone's input is captured and visible.
- This approach promotes transparency, models best practices for using Storytell internally, and supports a stronger feedback culture.
It’s a simple but powerful example of how Storytell can be used to improve communication, both inside teams and across organizations.
Additional discussions: error handling and file processing
The team also covered ongoing improvements in error handling and file processing workflows, part of broader efforts to strengthen platform stability and user experience.
If you're curious about these updates or how Storytell could support your own workflows, we invite you to give the Chrome extension a try or reach out to learn more. Your feedback helps shape what we build next.
