Smarter AI, Better Exports, and an Upgraded Chrome Experience in Storytell

This week's engineering demo, Feb 28th, showcased updates that enhance data export, browsing insights, and AI model performance. Here’s a closer look at what’s new:

Download tables as CSV for easier data export

Users can now download tables from generated responses as CSV files. Andi, our senior frontend engineer, developed this feature to simplify data extraction and analysis. Anytime a table appears in a response, a download CSV button allows users to instantly export data into spreadsheets or other analysis tools.

  • Enables quick extraction of structured data for further analysis.
  • Useful for market researchers, analysts, and teams that need organized outputs.
  • Reduces manual copy-pasting, saving time and effort.

This feature is now available in Storytell, providing a seamless way to work with structured data across different platforms.

The next-generation Storytell Chrome extension

The Storytell Chrome extension has received a major upgrade, thanks to Andi. This new version allows users to pull insights directly from web pages into Storytell, improving accessibility to online content. It is particularly useful for capturing information from authenticated sites (such as private forums and dashboards) where Storytell does not have automatic ingestion pipelines.

The extension introduces an improved side panel UI, letting users pin Storytell to their browser and interact with web content efficiently. It also includes predefined prompts for quick insights without the need to craft new queries.

While still in an early stage, this extension lays the foundation for a more seamless AI-powered browsing experience.

Automating workflows with AI-driven SOPs

Dan Malone developed an AI-driven approach to handling customer calls and ticketing. AI agents now transcribe customer calls, extract key insights, and convert them into actionable Linear tickets, reducing manual effort and improving efficiency.

This means

  • Faster response times: Automated ticket creation helps engineering teams address user-reported issues more efficiently.
  • Improved accuracy: AI-driven transcription and summarization ensure that no critical details are lost.
  • Scalability: As Storytell grows, this automation enables support and engineering teams to manage increasing customer interactions without additional overhead.

This workflow automation is expected to improve Storytell’s response capabilities over time.

Claude 3.7 added to Storytell’s LLM rotation

Alex, our DevOps engineer, integrated Claude 3.7, the latest version of Anthropic’s AI model, into Storytell’s LLM router. This update ensures that users benefit from the newest advancements in AI-powered responses while also improving system reliability.

Claude 3.7 delivers notable improvements in speed, contextual understanding, and response accuracy compared to previous versions. Users can now take advantage of:

  • More accurate and nuanced responses, thanks to Claude 3.7’s enhanced language capabilities.
  • Increased reliability, ensuring stable AI performance across various tasks.
  • Optimized performance, offering a balance of cost-efficiency and high-quality output.

Claude 3.7 integration is already live, providing Storytell users with an improved AI experience. For more details, check out Anthropic’s official release.

Stay tuned for more updates as we continue refining and expanding Storytell’s capabilities.
